On Monday, President Trump held a roundtable discussion with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, First Daughter Ivanka Trump, and women business leaders from across the economy to promote women's contributions to the workforce.
“In order to create economic growth and lots of very good well-paying jobs, we must ensure that our economy is a place where women can work and thrive,” President Trump said. “We need policies that help to keep women in the work force and to address the unique barriers faced by female entrepreneurs....”
The president also announced that the United States and Canada would be launching a joint council to advance businesswomen and entrepreneurs, noting how important it was to continue breaking down the social barriers faced by women in the workplace. First Daughter Ivanka has been integral in encouraging policy that will allow all women to be competitive and successful in the economy.
The United States Canada Council for the Advancement of Women Business Leaders-Female Entrepreneurs will continue to work to level the playing field for female workers, business owners, and entrepreneurs across America.
